About
The fractures in the path were the source of the capability.
Gillian Power
I believe the people who've had to think hardest about who they are — who've carried the weight of code-switching, of translating themselves for institutions not built for them, of performing legibility while doing the actual work — tend to be the most capable diagnosticians in any room.
I have spent more than two decades in technology leadership, most recently as CTO of a national civil rights law firm. I came out and transitioned inside the C-suite of a large law firm. I have been through the rigors of an executive MBA program, I have led high-stakes projects and worked through significant organizational change – growth, reductions, layoffs, mergers and acquisitions. I received a neurodivergence diagnosis late enough that I'd already built a career learning to compensate for traits I didn't have names for. These experiences deeply inform me and do not define me. I have trained and practiced as a clinician in complementary medicine. I have spent 14 years training and practicing as a Reiki master. These experiences have all equipped me with a multi-model view of people and organizations and they are the foundations that allow me to work with you, or your organization, through transformation. They are the reasons I can see what's happening in a leadership situation, an organizational system, or a person at a threshold.
What that produces is precision. The precision that gets to the crux of the matter. The ability to hold operational rigor and human complexity in the same frame without flattening them or losing the humanity. I infuse it all with deep empathy and compassion for the exquisite nature of periods of transformation and to see — quickly and without sentimentality — when an institution has drifted from its purpose, when a leader is performing rather than leading, when the gap between mission and reality has grown wide enough to start fracturing everything else.
The Crux is the practice. It works with mission-driven organizations and their leaders — through consulting and coaching, at the decisive moments that can no longer be avoided.
The crux is the heart of the matter.

The most important work happens not when things are comfortable, but when they can no longer be avoided.
If you're at that point, let's talk.
